White Clay Lake: Mixed bag in the early AM
Finally, I was able to get up early and hit the water. I arrived at White Clay Lake just before sunrise on the last day of my Green Bay solo trip. I wanted to really get some decent sized northern this trip, so I threw on an F-9 Rapala silver/black floater.
I managed a few small pike, a couple of largemouth, and this surprise crappie, on an F9, go figure.
I know it’s not huge, but it is one of the better crappies I have caught, since I do not fish for them on a regular basis. He got a little torn up during the battle (three trebles on the lure) so I kept him for dinner.
I was not able to stay long at the lake because I had to head back to Chicago.
Fish Totals:
2 dink pike, 3 dink largemouth, and 1 crappie
