The plan was to get up early and hit White Clay Lake for some bass and northern action.  It had been a long week, however, and I over slept big time.  The plan was to get there at 5:00 am, but I actually didn’t even launch until closer to 11:00 am.

Once on the water, there were a lot of boats out.  Most people appeared to be jigging for crappies and panfish.  I moved over to the shallow, weedy western end of the lake.  It was a slow day overall, as most of my efforts were concentrated on pike.  It didn’t take long before I realized that they weren’t biting.  After a few hours of no action, I decided to put on a low weigh plastic worm and at least shake off the skunk.  I managed to pick up a bunch of smaller bass, as shown in the pictures below.

White Clay Lake Bass

The smaller bass were all I could muster up for the day.

After an early afternoon of very little action, I decided to head back to the house.  I figured I could still possibly salvage the day by eating then going out at night.

Fish Totals:
6 smaller largemouth bass
