Midwest Multispecies Angling
Attempted Kenosha Fishing 12/29
With my days off of school and my little guy at the sitters for the day, I decided to head North of the border. Kenosha harbor, on Lake Michigan, was the target. Most of the harbors down here are freezing up to the “in-between” phases. It makes them impossible to open water fish because they are frozen, but the ice is too thin for ice fishing. I knew that Kenosha has installed a new aerator system. I was hoping this would give me some open water to work with.
Unfortunately, the open water pockets were few and far between. The places that were open had a lot of current and was extremely dirty. In talking with a few guys down there, there were fish to be had, but you had to find them down deep. They also mentioned that Milwaukee was an incredibly hot place for steelhead and browns right now. I moved around from open space to open space, but no fish were to be had for me today.
I took this video, with my new MinoHD digital recorder that I got for Christmas and specifically this site. It will give you an idea of what the harbor looked like on this cold day in Wisconsin.
I may try again, I am not sure. I am either seeking a good end to 2009 or a beautiful beginning to 2010. Hopefully, one will happen if the ice cooperates.

Hi Matt – Congratulations on receiving the new video camera. Looking forward to what it will provide you and your blog posts. Looks like a pretty breezy day to be looking for some open water.
