My time on the water has been limited.  This was the weekend, a long time ago, I was planning to get out in the boat for the first time.  With the winter storm forecasted, I knew that fishing would be hopeless and a simple shore adventure. I knew the odds were against me.  The weather was calling for a winter storm, 3-5 inches of snow.  With all those good warm days of the past, why did we have to have a storm this late in march?  The winds were howling out of the North at over 25 mph.  I hit both Herrick and Hidden Lake.  I tried to work the windblown shores, but they were very dirty.  I tried to throw every lure I had, but they didn’t work.  I imagine that after the warm weather we had, a storm approaching, with near freezing temperatures, sent the fish deep and turned them off.

I gave it my best shot.  I worked from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm, hoping for just one fish.  I was the only guy at each of the lakes.  I figured I was owed at least a nibble.  It did not work, however.  I can only look forward to the mid 50′s temperatures of next weekend.  Maybe the winds will die, and it will finally be my weekend.
